Between Us (Sex on the Beach)BETWEEN US
I’m just a girl…

I’m a famous country star who’s spent her life cultivating a good girl persona to avoid bad press, but I’ve reached my limit. I’m going away for spring break with my two best friends from college, and we’ve vowed to spend the vacation seeking out fun in the sun—along with some hot, no-strings-attached sex. The only thing I needed was the perfect guy, and then I met Austin Murphy. He might be totally wrong for me, but the tattooed bad boy is hard to resist. When I’m in his arms, everything just feels right.

And I’m just a guy…

I’m just a bartender who lives in Key West, stuck in an endless cycle of boredom. But then Mackenzie Forbes, America’s Sweetheart herself, comes up to me and looks at me with those bright green eyes…and everything changes. She acts like she’s just a normal girl and I’m just a normal guy, but that couldn’t be further from the truth. My past isn’t pretty, you know. I did what I had to do to survive, and she’d run if she learned the truth about my darkness. But with her, I’m finally realizing what it’s like to be alive. To laugh, live, and be happy.

All good things must come to an end…
Jen McLaughlin is also the author of one of my most loved NA's, the Out of Line series. So OF COURSE I had to read this. Her novella in this super hot new Sex On The Beach series was what I wanted and expected from her; a super likable heroine and a swoon-worthy bad boy. The only negative (if you can call it that) thing I can say about this is that it's a quite short (which, as a novella, it's kinda supposed to be) but nevertheless, I wanted more Austin and more sexy times. Ha.
I really liked that the girl was the famous, rich person when normally it's the other way around in books. Mackenzie was such a likable character and  you find out that she's actually a really nice person behind all that camera and Hollywood. She's just a normal girl, really. Though I must say she wasn't my favourite out of the three best friends, and I think that's because I can't really relate to her so. But other than that, I'm sure the majority of readers will fall in love with her and even more with Austin. AUSTIN. Sigh. I loved him from the moment he appeared on the page. I love his sweet caring nature, I love his protectiveness and his backstory was well developed and different.
If you love NA and want to read about three friends on a spring break holiday, then you'll really love this. It's such a fun, short read but there's still a lot of depth to it. Perfect for spring!

Beyond Me (Sex on the Beach)

Spring break in Key West with my besties was supposed to be casual fun. But I never expected to meet James Hunt. Sex and frolic? Yes! A relationship? No. But his hot blue eyes and confident manner drew me in. And when he let me see the man behind the mask, I fell hard, foolishly believing there could be a future for us. Of course I never considered our relationship might be based on lies…or that his betrayal could rock my foundation and make me question everything I believed in…

The moment I saw Quinn I knew I had to have her. She hooked me with her cool eyes and don’t touch me attitude. I had it all, money, social status, and looks. I could get any girl I wanted…until her. When my friends challenged me with a bet to get her into bed by the end of the week, I couldn’t pass it up. But sex wasn’t supposed to turn into love. She wasn’t supposed to change me, push me, and make me want more for myself. She wasn’t supposed to wreck me in all ways. And now, if I can’t turn my lies into truth, I just might lose her forever…

I think this is my favourite of the three. I just love love love the main characters so much and their relationship. Quinn is a lot like me. She's the hardworking, sweet girl of the group and she often takes care of the other two. I love seeing her confidence grow the more she spends time with James and how their prejudgements against each other couldn't be more wrong. She was wrong about him and vice versa. I really admired her growth throughout the novella. And James' too. I feel like he has grown a lot and matured while he was with Quinn. They bring out the best in each other and I love his dreams of becoming an artist. His family is horrible!
The plot was also awesome. I love me some story about a boy who at the start makes a bet with his stupid friends and he ended up falling in love with her. Yes, that may be a story we've seen a thousand times but it was written really refreshingly here and I love the ending.
Before You (Sex on the Beach)BEFORE YOU
It’s all fun and games

I had a simple plan for spring break.

Sun, sand, and a hot guy. Sex on the beach, with no strings attached.

A chance to get rid of this pesky virginity once and for all.

And when I met Tyler McKenna, I thought I had it made.

Until someone gets hurt

But then girls started turning up at Key West landmarks. Girls who looked like me, but with one crucial difference: They’d all been drugged and relieved of their virginity.

The virginity I still have. The virginity Ty refuses to take.

And now I’ve begun to wonder whether there isn’t more to him than meets the eye.

Suddenly, sex on the beach doesn’t sound so good anymore…
Before You was the last one I read and while it wasn't my favourite, it was still pretty enjoyable and different with the whole mystery aspect.  I was intrigued right from the beginning and wanted to know what was happening. There was more to Ty than we thought and it was fun unravelling it all together. While the two main characters annoyed me in one or two occasions, I was stil interested enough to want to continue.
The whole crime and mystery isn't normally my thing but I know a lot of readers will enjoy it. I ended up enjoying it. The level and balance of the romance and mystery was just right.
