Ren and Axel are caught between two powerful magical races: one destined to end the bloodshed, the other out for vengeance.

Seventeen-year-old Ren Pernell is prophesied to end the war between the Dracians and the Telalians. So when a Dracian, Axel Knight, is sent to find and bring back the prophesied one before she turns eighteen and Telalians discover of her existence, unexpected sparks start to fly between the two. Once Ren finds the truth behind Axel’s arrival, she wants everything to do with him and nothing to do with his mission.

Things prove to become difficult as Ren’s life is constantly threatened by the Goarders, humans who sold their souls, a Proxy Succubi, and the leader of the Telalians, who has been searching for her as well.

With the clock ticking and Ren’s life in jeopardy, it is no longer just a mission for Axel. It becomes a personal endeavor to save the only one he’s ever loved. In a heart racing ending, they must find a way to evade the preordained war that won’t also end Ren’s life.
I've got a love-hate relationship with this book. While some parts really did impress me considering this is a debut, some parts really did make me want to tear my hair out. And I like my hair, thank ya very much.

Let's talk about the plot first. I was so intrigued by the two magical races Dracians and the Telalians and I was expecting to read more about them but what we got was we had the mention at the beginning of the book, and there was no action or something whatsoever until the last few chapters. I want it to be more developed since I think the author can do so much with this. Though I admit the parts we have read, were really great.

With Ren, I was sorta expecting this kick-ass heroine who's smart and brave and blah blah blah but what we unforetunately got was this weak, whiny character who I sometimes got really annoyed with. I feel like the author wants and tries toooo hard to make her really kick-ass and a character who knows what she wants but it's just not working for me.

GUYS, HELP ME. There is insta-love in this book. Oh my gosh. The MC was telling us how she's fallen in love with him in just...WAIT FOR IT...20% of the book. Yes, I did check my Kindle. Like most people/bloggers/readers, that is my absolute hate. Hate hate hate. *clears throat*. Anyway, apart from that which made me hulk-like angry, I didn't mind the romance between Ren and Axel. Axel definitely says the right things and sometimes, he was very swoon-worthy and oh so romantic.

Another thing that really pissed me off. The love triangle. You guys know I'm not a big fan of love triangles and I have to be honest here. While I do love Axel and Dean, I got really tired of the love triangle. It's not the guys' fault. It's REN'S fault. This stupid girl just can't make up her mind and I just want to strangle her! Throughout the book she keeps leading both guys on and keeps going back and forth between them. Just choose one, and leave the other alone.

I think Dean is the saving grace for me. (Just to save confusion: I am totally Team Dean, but we can all guess who Ren's going to end up with just by reading the book summary). Every time he was on the page, I just want to hug this book! Some may say he's your typical bad boy but he's got so many hidden layers underneath that I just want to figure him out. I hope Priya does a POV for him. I'd so read it. :)

You know what? I loved the side characters way more than the main ones. Ren's brother Joshua was one I absolutely loved and his girlfriend/fiance was so sweet! I could read a book about them!

I loved Priya's writing style! It was so addicting and there were some very funny one-liners in there! About the pace of the book however, there were quite slow and didn't pick up until the roughly 3/4 of the book. A little tidbit: I started this and then put it down and didn't pick it up until 2 weeks since it was slow.

The ending kinda ruined this for me. Argh. I can't believe that! WHY?!? I really don't want to give too much away but I thought someone's death was utterly pointless. WHY OH WHY. And I want to say so much more about it but I'm gonna keep my mouth shut. For now. Fyi, I'm undecided whether I will read the sequel. Maybe. Just for Dean.

Overall, this was still worth a read, and even though there were definitely some things I had a problem with, I don't regret reading DRACIAN LEGACY. The author has a lot of potential!
